Mera overall experience acha raha, lekin test ko easy samajh kar bilkul nahi jana chahiye. Intelligence ke kuch questions straightforward thay aur kuch ka pattern thora complicated tha. Academic portion mein especially Chemistry aur Physics ki proper preparation bohat important lagi.
Verbal Intelligence
Verbal mein series, age problems, odd one out, analogy, percentage, day/date aur relationships se questions aaye.
Practice material ki wajah se pattern samajhne mein kaafi help mili. Kuch questions same concepts par thay, lekin wording different thi.

Alhamdulillah mera test clear ho gaya. Test ke din confidence rakhein, kisi aik question par unnecessary time waste na karein aur academics ko intelligence se kam important na samjhein.
AFNS INITIAL TEST EXPERIENCE — 31 AUGUST 2026
Student Name:
Centre: Lahore
Result: Alhamdulillah, PASSED
I am Alizay Abid. I appeared in my AFNS Initial Test on 31 August 2026 at Lahore Centre. Alhamdulillah, I successfully passed my initial test.
My overall experience was good. The test mainly consisted of Verbal Intelligence, Non-Verbal Intelligence and Academic portions. The intelligence portion required speed and concentration, while the academic portion was mostly conceptual.
For verbal intelligence, there were questions from number series, alphabet series, analogy, odd one out, coding-decoding, directions and basic reasoning. Non-verbal questions included figure series, missing figures, pattern completion and rotations.
The academic portion was a mix of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English. Some questions were very direct while a few were conceptual. These are the academic questions I remember:
Which of the following is not a unit of pressure?
Answer: N·m²
Acetone reacts with H₂ to produce what?
Answer: 2-Propanol
What is the molecular formula of hydroquinone?
Answer: C₆H₆O₂

Answer: Inductance
One henry is equivalent to what?
Answer: 1 volt-second per ampere
Which part of the neuron carries impulses away from the cell body?
Answer: Axon
Overall, the test was manageable if your concepts were clear. My advice to upcoming AFNS candidates is to practice intelligence questions daily, revise FSc Biology, Chemistry and Physics concepts, and focus on English grammar as well.
I prepared with the help of practice material, academic MCQs, intelligence preparation and student experiences. These helped me understand the pattern and improve my confidence.
All credit for my preparation and success goes to the people who guided and supported me throughout my AFNS preparation. Their guidance, practice material and support helped me a lot. I am truly thankful for their efforts.
Best of luck!
AFNS INITIAL TEST EXPERIENCE — 31 AUGUST 2026
Name:
Centre: Karachi
Date: 31 August 2026
Status: Pass
I am Aliza Shehbaz. I appeared in my AFNS Initial Test on 31 August 2026 at Karachi. Alhamdulillah, I cleared my initial test successfully. I am sharing my experience, especially the topics and questions I remember, for students whose tests are coming next.
Documents & Centre Experience
I reached the centre early because document checking and verification can take time. My documents were checked before I was allowed to proceed toward the test.
My suggestion is to take all your required original documents along with photocopies/prints and reach the centre well before the reporting time. Don’t leave document preparation until the test morning.
After verification, we were guided toward the testing area. The environment was disciplined, and the main thing was to stay relaxed and listen carefully to the instructions.
Intelligence Test
The intelligence portion was mostly manageable, but time was the main challenge. Questions appeared easy individually, but you have to solve them quickly.
I got questions related to population, percentages, basic mathematical reasoning, sequences and general verbal intelligence. There was also a question involving a chimpanzee.
A few questions/concepts similar to what I received were:
If 20 students are present and 5 are absent, what percentage of the total students are absent?
Answer: 20%
If the population of a group increases from 200 to 250, what is the percentage increase?
Answer: 25%
My advice is not to spend too much time on a single intelligence question. If you understand the pattern, answer quickly and move forward.
Academic Test Experience
My academic test was quite conceptual. English required good grammar concepts, Physics contained numerical concepts, Chemistry focused strongly on functional groups, and Biology included disease-related concepts.
English
English was not just simple vocabulary. I received questions related to subject and predicate and different types of phrases, especially noun and adjective phrases.
Identify the predicate in the sentence: “The young girl won the competition.”
Answer: Won the competition
Identify the noun phrase in the sentence: “The little boy with curly hair is my brother.”
Answer: The little boy with curly hair
Identify the adjective phrase in the sentence: “The girl in the blue dress won the competition.”
Answer: In the blue dress
Physics
Physics was more conceptual and numerical. I remember questions related to efficiency, work done and kinetic energy. In some questions, values/factors were changed and we had to determine their effect.
A machine takes 500 J of input energy and produces 400 J of useful output energy. What is its efficiency?
Answer: 80%
A force of 20 N moves an object 5 m in the direction of force. Calculate the work done.
Answer: 100 J
If the velocity of an object is doubled while its mass remains constant, how does its kinetic energy change?
Answer: It becomes four times greater.
If the mass of an object is doubled while its velocity remains constant, what happens to its kinetic energy?
Answer: It becomes twice as large.
Biology
My Biology portion contained disease-related concepts, so don’t ignore diseases while revising Biology. Try to remember the causative agents and important features of common diseases.
Which bacterium causes tuberculosis?
Answer: Mycobacterium tuberculosis
Which organism causes malaria?
Answer: Plasmodium
Which virus causes AIDS?
Answer: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
Chemistry
For Chemistry, functional groups were very important. Make sure you can recognize the functional group from a formula or structure instead of just memorizing definitions.
What is the characteristic functional group of alcohols?
Answer: Hydroxyl group (–OH)
What is the functional group of aldehydes?
Answer: –CHO
What is the functional group present in ketones?
Answer: Carbonyl group (>C=O)
What is the functional group of carboxylic acids?
Answer: Carboxyl group (–COOH)
What is the functional group of amines?
Answer: Amino group (–NH₂)
For me, the test was moderate but conceptual. Intelligence was not extremely difficult, but there was time pressure. Academics required concepts rather than simple memorization.
Topics I Would Especially Recommend Revising
Verbal intelligence and basic mathematical reasoning
Percentages and population-based questions
English phrases, subject and predicate, and sentence structure
Physics numericals, especially efficiency, work and kinetic energy
Chemistry functional groups and their identification
Biology diseases and their causative organisms
My Advice
Don’t spend your last days trying to memorize thousands of random MCQs. Revise important concepts and then solve MCQs from those topics.
For Physics, practice numericals because changing just one value can completely change the answer. For Chemistry, learn to identify functional groups from structures. For English, understand phrases and sentence structure. For Biology, revise important diseases and their causative organisms.
Special Thanks
I prepared with the help of quality preparation material and guidance, which helped me with both intelligence and academic concepts.
Alhamdulillah, the hard work paid off and I passed my AFNS Initial Test successfully.
Once again, special thanks to everyone who guided and supported me throughout my preparation.

Answer: Ethane
Ethanol on oxidation gives:
Answer: Ethanal
English : Grammar ke saath figure of speech se bhi question tha.
“Her smile was like sunshine.” Which figure of speech is used?
Answer: Simile
Overall meri advice ye hai ke intelligence ki timed practice zaroor karein aur academics mein sirf ratta lagane ke bajaye concepts clear karein. Biology ke important chapters, Chemistry ke reactions/mole concept, Physics ke numericals aur English grammar ko revise karein.
